    SMI Worker Positions Posted! Please sign up...

    Pirate Families, 

    SMI workers have been assigned today, so please sign up for a shift ASAP. They base the amount of workers on how many we have swimming, and it seems very fair this year. If you have a child swimming in SMI, you should be ready to serve a shift. We have been assigned jobs for each day, so please pay attention when signing up and ensure that you are signing up on a day that your child is swimming. Please save this email as you may need to refer to this information on SMI weekend. If you have been unable to serve thus far at a regular season meet, please sign up for a shift at this meet as many other parents have served multiple shifts in regular season meets, and we all need to contribute.

    Please be on early for your shift so you are on time. LATE arrivals to worker positions (if the meet is delayed) grants a 25-point deduction from overall team scores for the day. ABSENT workers (if the meet continues after a delay with a ‘stand-in’ for any amount of time) will mean deducting 50 points from your overall team score. Please arrive at your positions in advance of the Event/Heat specified as the worker start time and gain insight from the previous worker to the flow of the meet before the relieved worker departs.

You may also refer to the SMI website as they will post a daily schedule, menus, parking and location information etc. Coach AJ will email you warm up times and any information she needs to relay to parents and swimmers. This email is just for volunteer sign ups.

    The SMI meet will NOT pause for shift changes!

    Shift-change occurs directly following Relay events.Shift Change Time reminders will be announced over the loudspeakers.

    Shift 1-Event 1-18 

    Shift 2-Event 19-33 

    Shift 3-Event 34-52

    SUNDAY

    Shift 1-EVENT 53-64
    Shift 2-EVENT 65-74
    Shift 3-EVENT 75-84 plus 101

    Note: Until the meet is seeded, the “exact time” of these shifts is not yet known. There will be an updated copy of this document online under “Worker Schedule” after the meet is seeded and Event times are determined. The updated copy will have the approximate times of day.

    I added a Tent Parent position for each day. This volunteer position is pretty low key, but you will need to be our Team Rep and check in our team and pick up and distribute t-shirts for the team on Saturday and Sunday morning as well as make sure our volunteers are present. If you sign up for this position, please contact me and I will get with you to give you the t-shirt order form so you know who to distribute t-shirts to. 

    Please also make sure to get Coach Aj's number so if she needs to contact the team tent, she can reach someone. Also, please keep the kids at the tent informed on which events are rounding up so we look out for each other. I will not be at the meet, but if you need me, please feel free to reach out.
